Those are not the same statistic. Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics are annual and were released 15 May 2026 for May 2025. Average hourly earnings are monthly, from the August 2026 Employment Situation, released 4 September 2026. The mean is pulled up by high wages. The May 2025 median hourly wage for all occupations was $24.51.

Over the year, average hourly earnings increased 3.1 percent. Production and nonsupervisory employees were at $32.53 in August. The average private workweek edged up to 34.4 hours.
